I have an in home cattery. I do not cage my cats nor do I have a shed to keep my cats like alot of breeders do. My cats run my home. They are free to lounge on tables and chairs or climb their cat trees or my bookshelves. I do have to stop them from climbing the bookshelves when they are little for their safety. They also run full speed from every inch of my home (except my sons room lol) and sound like mini horses stampeding lol. But I love on every single cat and kitten as much as humanly possible from the time I wake up to the time I fall asleep. I literally fall asleep loving on one or another. I make sure anyone who gets a baby from me knows everything I am able to put into words about the kitten. It is hard to explain personalities to them as personalities are seen and not articulated as well. I have not had anyone unhappy with any of my kittens aside from one person that was unhappy about the kitten having diarrhea for the first month due to stress and her feeding solely wet food that the kitten was not used to. I tried in every way to make her understand she can’t just switch to any food and a kittens stomach be okay with it. She was happy after the diarrhea stopped. My main concern is the happiness of my cats and kittens and if a new owner is happy with their new kitten then the kitten is happy since the new owner is loving on the kitten that they are happy with.

FAQs when considering Maine Coon Cats
What should I ask to choose the right Maine Coon Cat breeder?
While there are many people in West Virginia who claim to be ethical Maine Coon Cat breeders, not all hold a standard that you can feel great about. Asking some relevant questions about their philosophy will ensure you avoid Maine Coon Cat breeders that do this only for financial gain, not having the interests of the cats or you in mind. Make sure you ask about:
- Health history of the parents and vaccinations. They should have their first vaccinations by the time they're adopted.
- Whether they've bred their Maine Coon Cats with other breeds (they should disclose this and it would make it not a purebred lien.
- Have the socialized the kitten among other kittens?
- Do they belong to a West Virginia Maine Coon Cat breed club? You can ask for references from the club.
Why does it matter if I buy from a registered Maine Coon Cat breeder?
When you buy from a registered Maine Coon Cat breeder (with either their local Maine Coon Cat club, governing body, or TICA/CFA), that ensures that a standard of care and expertise is enforced. You can ask them about a wide range of topics such as the Maine Coon Cat’s genealogy, the right kitten for you, common health problems with Maine Coon Cats to look out for. We offer additional registration through our Cat Kingpin Certified program as well, although it's not a replacement for other registrations.

I have had two interests since I was very young… the Internet and cats. I grew up with two lovely cats in my family, Midnight and Chloe. But when I started looking for a cat as an adult, I realized how few reliable resources there are for finding ethical breeders. So I combined my Internet skills and cat knowledge to create Cat Kingpin, the #1 resource for cat breeders online. Have a question or suggestion for my list? You can reach me here.
